place enter

a site specific performance in what was formerly the crypt of Norwich Cathedral's Chantry Chapel, now part of Norwich School, on 25 June 2013 as part of BORDERLINE/ Performance Festival, curated by Elena Italia.

PLACE ENTER responded to the ancient space and reflected on woman's place.

imagery emerged from a plethora of stimuli, including current religious ritual; historic references, especially the practices and isolation of the anchoress, Julian of Norwich; the perception and depiction of the first female disciples and the role of women in contemporary society.
